Riverwalk Vista Columbia Sc
Very friendly staff and clean hotel. Our large, corner room had a King bed. AC and ceiling fan kept room nicely cool. It's an old building but has been very nicely, professionally renovated. Hardwood floors were shiny and clean, and roomy bathroom was modernized. The furniture was somewhat distressed, but fit right in with the décor. Staff made every attempt to keep the place clean and to accommodate guests. The small elevator was very adequate. Jesse knows the town quite well. We took most of his advice and wished we had taken ALL of it. We used shuttles and Lyft, so parking was not an issue with us. The hotel was right across the street from steps leading to the River Walk, in walking distance to the Alamo, shops, restaurants and a very nice indoor mall. They offer a continental breakfast. The older building does not have some of the amenities you might be used to in a more modern hotel, but we enjoyed our stay. The outside is not at all inviting - when our driver said, 'Here you are,' I said, 'Where?' - and it requires walking up about 6 steps with your luggage to get to the entry door -where you to be buzzed in until you have the entrance code. There is a desk clerk there from early morning until 11:00 PM when someone who is more like a night watchman comes on duty. A little noisy at night since it was on a busy corner, but that didn't really bother us. The WIFI has a little to be desired.…
